No More Falls Program

"What should I do if I have had a fall or I am afraid of falling?"

Over half of seniors who are transported to the hospital have injuries that are the result of a fall.  To prevent such debilitating falls from happening, the "No More Falls" program was created.

About the Program

No More Falls is a program put together by the Aptos/La Selva Fire District and American Medical Response, in partnership with the Santa Cruz County EMCC (Emergency Medical Care Commission).  The goal of the program is to reduce falls for residents over the age of 60 by helping to identify risk factors and hazards that could lead to a fall.

Free In-Home Safety Evaluations

Aptos/La Selva Fire District offers free in-home safety evaluations to residents within our district that are over 60 or have a mobility-limiting disability, to assess your home for any possible hazards that may lead to a fall.  If you are interested in making an appointment for one of these free inspections, or have any questions regarding this program, call our office at (831) 685-6690.  You can also request an inspection via our No More Falls Request Form.

Self-Inspection Checklist

For those not wanting a home-inspection, we also have a Self-Inspection Checklist available, for residents to use themselves.
