About The District - Current Statistics Minimize

The Aptos/La Selva Fire Protection District encompasses 27 square miles with a resident population of approximately 29,931 (based on 2010 census data, available at usa.com). Our current FY 2017/18 budget is $12,798,916.

We operate three fire stations with 9 Firefighters, 12 Firefighter/Paramedics and 9 Fire Captains. We have 3 Division Chiefs who supervise Fire Prevention, Operations, Emergency Medical Services, Training and Support Services. The Division Chiefs share incident command duty coverage on a rotating basis, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We also employ a Director of Business Services, two Fire Inspectors, two Administrative Assistants and a Fire Chief, for a total of thirty-nine employees.
